Panwaburi Beachfront Resort Reviews
Panwaburi Beachfront Resort is a secluded retreat approximately an hour and ten minutes away from Phuket International Airport. If you’re seeking vibrant nightlife, you might need to look elsewhere, but if you crave a peaceful escape from the bustling city life, this resort is perfect for you.
Upon my mid-day arrival, I found the resort to be quite popular, with many guests, like myself, waiting to check in. If you’re planning a visit, I hope your trip is at least 6 weeks in the future as rooms are always sold out for 3-4 consistent days. Luggage drop-off is available and the staff will tag your bags for you. While waiting for check-in, guests can relax in the reception area or take a stroll along Ao Yong Beach. I checked in around 3 PM, paying a THB 1,000 cash deposit, which was refunded to me after the staff inspected my room.
Synopsis: Deluxe Non-Smoking Double Room with Pool Access. Room comes with one full bed with shade and black-out curtains, a small TV and other amenities one would expect to find at a hotel (safe, electric kettle, water, mini-fridge, etc). There is an open closet where the resort robes are hung on a bar next to the bathroom mirror. Bathroom shower (rain shower-head present) is separate from the toilet for privacy. Body Wash and Shampoo are provided, hair conditioner is not.
THE PROS OF PANWABURI
- The resort boasts an iconic main swimming pool just outside the ground-floor rooms, perfect for Instagram-worthy photos.
- A secondary pool on the third floor offers breathtaking views from the roof.
- The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of natural light enhancing the tranquility.
- The resort offers a floating breakfast option.
- Paddleboards are available upon request to explore Ao Yon Beach
- The gym and kiddie club are located on the second floor.
- Room comes with an umbrella.
- Very easy to chat with a neighbor due to the proximity of rooms with their own private pool entrance on the ground floor.
THE CONS OF PANWABURI
- There is no laundry service available.
- Check-in is at 3 PM.
- Due to its remote location, there are no convenience stores nearby. The nearest 7-Eleven is a 5-minute drive away.
- The food options are average, and the menu could be more extensive.
- Only two kayaks are available, as the ground-floor pool is narrow.
KAYAKS ARE USED ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE BASIS.
During my stay, I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. They were always ready to assist, whether it was providing mosquito repellent or answering any questions I had. If you are like me and you’re traveling solo then the stay could be a bit awkward as the resort is a prime spot for couples. It was my second solo trip abroad and my first experience feeling out of place in that way but I didn’t let it damper my spirits though and decided to enjoy my time relaxing, taking pictures, chatting with guests, and paddling my kayak.
Personally, I wouldn’t stay longer than 3 nights, as I prefer more activity and exploration. However, should you just want to relax or if you have a car or don’t mind the taxi ride to explore other areas, staying longer could be more enjoyable. For my visit I used Trip.com to make my booking. One thing I love about this website is how fast it is to get in touch with customer service should I have questions, and I always have questions 😅.
